Hello, I am trying to connect my great-great-great-grandmother, Harriet Wykoff and her "cousin" Caroline Michaels with their ancestors. I know that Harriet was staying with "family" in "Cameron County" in the 1850's. I'm also aware that Cameron County was not formed until the 1860's, but the information that I have states that she was born in Cameron County in the 1830's? I am fairly certain that Harriet's parents were John A Wykoff and Caroline Michaels. She had at least one brother, Henry C. and at least one sister who married John Perry of Clinton County. I can't find anything on Henry C Wykoff. Is anyone familiar with this family? Michele
I have in my Wykoff files following: John B. Wykoff born 20 Aug 1800 NJ married Caroline Dorcas Michael born 4 March 1810. John is the s/o William Aukey Wykoff 1779-1853 married to Eleanor (nelly) Van Mater 1781-1851. John and Caroline's children: Sarah 28 Aug 1829---17 April 1833 Harriet 19 March 1832 William 1 Jan 1837----10 June 1837 Elizabeth 14 May 1838 Dorcas Caroline 28 April 1840 Anna Eliza 10 Oct 1846 John A born 18 July 1849 I have a listing on John B. Wykoff's brother and sisters. I don't have a brother Henry listed for Harriet. Most of my info comes from a second cousin, who was a Wykoff. She has done research on this line. If you would like her e-mail address, I am sure she would answer you back. I just checked with LDS www.familysearch.org for Harriet Wykoff. If you go there you will find her. She was born 19 March 1932 Cameron Co. died 19 Feb.1881 Salt Lick, Pa. (Karthaus Twp, which I believe is in Clearfield Co. Pa.) She is buried Keewayden Cem. Covington Twp. Clearfield Co. Pa. married to James Burton Askey, in 1846. He was born 2 Feb. 1816 Curensville, Pa. died 1880 Salt Lick. s/o Robert and Mary Evans Askey. He married second time to Mary Michaels. Hope this helps you out. You can go to www.worldconnect.com, some info there, but not much. Info listed, you can get a name and an e-mail address on who submitted the info. Contact them.
