In 1903 my grandparents went from Clearfield County, PA to Salamanca, NY to be married. It is not far from Olean. The county is Cattaraugas and the county seat is Little Valley. It is beautiful country. Hope this helps. Beverly Carter [email protected]

New York State began having state record for birth marriage and deaths in 1880 . You would have to send for the state records, Most county records only go to the 1900 or a little later. NYS seals thier records. Marriage is 50 years and both parties must be deceased. If one partner is alive and give thier permission you can get the record. Birth records are sealed for 75 years. If you have the right date they will do a search for the records.
