Just a quick note that the meeting was well attended with 20 people. Airing the meeting times on channel 9 brought in 2 new people and I think reminded several others. Dave Reed did a fascinating talk about the available records. I know I learned about a couple sets of records I was not aware of, including annual coroner's reports that go back to the 1880's! I will let you know what is involved with these as they may be death records that we did not know existed. I also got a lead for where the county Civil War Pension records may be. We will publish the details of the available records with the full report of the meeting. Some not so good news is that the St. James Church records that I was looking forward to getting were only the list of graves that we already have online. :( I was under the impression that this person had the church books....oh well. Having a speaker made all the difference. I am open to ideas and suggestions for future speakers!! PLEASE HELP!!
