Her name is Barbra. In one of her posts she lists a Lillian Seely in her surnames line, and I would like to know if this could possibly by my g-grandfather William Seelye's sister. Lillie Seelye was born in Beechwood/Rathbun area on May 10, 1861, the daughter of Simon and Rebecca (Haines?) Seelye. Other names Barbra lists are Hettie Hicks, Levi Hicks, James Patchell and Roarin' Jack Bell. She says her grandmother is Charlotte Bell Seely Hicks. If Barbra is still out there, or anyone else knows Barbra or her information, can you please contact me? Hello, I am new to the list, and am searching for information on my GG grandmother. Her name as I have it was Hettie Naomi Hains, born in Emporium on Oct. 7, 1853. She married Daniel Burns. According to the LDS site, they were married July 6, 1870. At some point they moved to Austin,Potter Co., Pa. There was a flood, and it is said that Hettie lost family members in that flood. They built a raft, and put their family and belongings on that raft, and went down the Susquehanna river to Lancaster Co. Pa. Daniel Burns was from Lancaster Co. originally. That is about sum total of what I know of Hetty/Hettie Hains. I am not sure if the spelling was Hains or Haines. I have also seen the nickname of Hetty for the name Esther. Hetty's oldest grandchild was named Esther, so there could be a clue there. The children's names were: Beckie Lowella (Rebecca was Daniel's mother's name) Elizabeth Maude (my g. grandmother) Harry Daniel (no Harry's on Daniel's family line, so perhaps is a clue) Minnie Bell Does any of this ring a bell for anyone? Hetty is one of my tallest brick walls. Hoping to hear from someone. Yvonne
I am new to the list, and yours was the first post that I read. I do not know what the preceding message was about, but if you should find that your Barr's originated in Lancaster Co., I have a large data base for them. Yvonne

Hi! Thanks for the email. We are looking for more information about Joseph and Mary SCHABERL. Joseph (1819 - 3/22/1891) married Mary (1828 - 2/22/1906). Their daughter, Ann (1859-1933) married George EMMERT on 9/17/1878. George's brother, John EMMERT married a Mary SCHABERL (probably Ann's sister??). Anyway, if you could help us connect we would greatly appreciate it. Hi Laura, My mother's mother was Hanes. Her name was Mary Elizabeth Hanes. She was born November 3, 1857 in Upper West Creek which I think refers to Beechwood/Rathbun area. Her father was David J. Hanes who was born July 1828 in New York State and died October 8, 1859 and was buried at Lewisville, PA, foot of Benninger. Hill.(I haven't the least idea where this place is.) In the 1850 Census David and Elizabeth and two children are listed. Their name is spelled Haynes. My grandmother's brother is lisred in the 1880 census as David C. Haynes. I think a lot of the different spelling in censuses have to do with the census taker. Hanes was the way the famly spelled their name. Maybe somehow they could be related to your Henry. Sounds like a different family, but then, you can never tell. My Henry Haines was born in NY state approx 1808 according to census records. I have no definitive proof that he is my ancestor, but I am becoming more and more sure that my gg-grandmother Rebecca Seelye was his daughter. It appears that many of the old families that lived in Beechwood / Rathbun are descendents of Henry, and I think that most, if not all of the Hanes' families still in St. Marys are his descendents too. I just found Henry in Cortland NY a few days ago, listed right beside William Seelye, who I believe may be my ggg-grandfather, but again, I have no definitive proof -- just a bunch of families who move around together and never intermarry. n a message dated 1/4/04 4:24:59 PM Pacific Standard Time, [email protected] writes: << Hi Lauria, My great great grandfather Cables N.
