    3. Hi I am another cousin of Bob Spellenberg. My grandmother was the third Ottilia (Spellenberg )Seelye daughter of Engelbert and Anna Elizabeth (Hoffman )Spellenberg, married to Robert Seelye. .If you do not have this family's information, please let me know and I'll fill you in. Laura, on the list, also fits as her family is descended from William and Florence Spellenberg Seelye, if you haven't heard from her yet. We are just one big happy family. 1. Is anyone researching the Morrison family?
    2. I've been waiting to see, and have not yet seen them mentioned. The Morrison family is documented as the first family along West Creek, moving there from Ithaca NY in 1844. My Hanes (Haines / Haynes) family moved there very soon after and lived alongside the Morrisons for at least three generations, but I do not see them inter-marrying. To me, this is a big clue that they may be closely related. I do not know the maiden names of either Keziah, wife of Henry Haines, or Elizabeth, wife of Jeremiah Morrison. Does anyone? Thanks! Laura Bent

    2. Matthew T. Hout
    3. Jack and Mona, Thanks for getting in touch with me. The DeCourcey family is a pain in the #$% to research. different spellings, and seems James and Vida (as of right now) are the only ones who had children. Wait, no.. I may have found James brother Frank and his children (Robert and Betty) Since the family worked on the Rail Roads, they all lived pretty much together (I have census) for a few of the DeCourcey/DeCoursey in the Buffalo, New York area. I have copied the 1920 Census: Katherine (Hout) DeCourcey age 66 and two sons George age 33 and (can't make it out) Dirillo(sp) age 26. Buffalo City, 4th Ward.. Sheet number 11A James and Vida DeCoursey (ages 43 and 41) Harry 19, James 15, Ruth 10. I came across James and Harry WW1 Registrations cards with b-days on it and Vida as (spouse / mother). Buffalo, City, Enumeration District 38 page 14a. Think the street is either oakdale or akdale? Oakdale! Martin DeCoursey age 40 and wife Lucillia age 33 same census as James and Vida just a few lines up. 1930 Census: I have same information of James and Vida, however minus Ruth and add in Virginia. I thought they were the same gal with different names, but you guys are telling me two girls and two boys. Martin DeCoursey (minus his wife) lived with his brother William in Buffalo, 7th ward, sheet 18b Enumeration District 15-90. I do have the 1880 and 1900 census of John and Catherine (Hout) DeCoursey in Shippen, Cameron, PA. I'm also doing SSDI searches on the Decoursey based on est. year of birth that I have. I have found some in Florida and I think the other in Virginia. In fact.. Harry Charles (son of James and Vida) died.. May 07, 1971, Virginia. That's based out of the SSDI. It drives me crazy, this family does. I have more information, and hope to gather more. Hope to hear from you guys! Matthew T. Mona Anderson and I are first cousins - our fathers (William and Jack) are brothers. Your James Charles DeCourcey's wife was Alvida (Vida) Charlotta Extrom (originally spelled Ekstrom) - daughter of Carl August Extrom and Maria Christina Svensdotter. Vida was born in Langaryd, Jonkopings Lan, Smaland, Sweden in 1878 and emigrated to the US with her mother and siblings (Karl Hjalmar b. 12-26-1874; Johan Saloman b. 9-18-1876; and Olga Vilhelmina b. 5/8/1880). Four other children were born in Elk and Cameron County following Maria's emigration to the US in late 1883/early 1884 - still working on this. Her husband CArl August had emigrated three years earlier by himself in 1881 landing in the lumber camps in Sterling Run. Many Swedes and Norwegian "woodsmen" emigrated to the US in the mid-to late 1800's following the cutting and depletion of the forests in those countries. Vida was a sister to Mona's and my paternal grandmother Rosie Almira Extrom Cox. "Uncle" Jim and "Aunt" Vida lived most of their married life in Buffalo, NY. They actually had 4 children: Harry C. (b. 6-2-1900), Ruth (don't have any dates), Virginia (b. abt 1921) and James (b. abt 1904). Jim and his boys all worked for the PRR. This is the one Extrom branch (Vida and Jim) Mona and I have the least information on so we are thrilled to have your connection. I have a group Extrom family photo from the early 1920's which includes Vida and Jim and several of their children along with Vida's parent Carl August and Maria Christina. We would love to share information you as our two older Cox aunts (ages 99 and 94 respectively) are little fuzzy (rightfully so!) on all they can remember about Aunt Vida and Uncle Jim. Mona and I have history on Vida's mother's family (Maria Christina) dating back to the early 1700's in Sweden. Look forward to hearing from you. 1. Logue, Prouty, Wescott
    2. Anyone know anything about a Mary V. Logue (b-12/08/1856) I believe she was the daughter of Marietta Prouty and James B. Logue- ( died in the civil war). I believe her and her younger sister (Jerusha b- 5/13/1858) were sent to a soldiers orphanage in Tioga County in or about 1870. I am wondering if she is my gg grandmother. At any rate my great grandmother was born in Sinnemahoning Joanna (or Annie)Wescott, father Joseph Wescott mother Mary V. (Logue)? She would have been born about 1874 also an older brother Eugene Wescott born in or around 1872 also at Sinnamehoning. By 1880 the family had moved to Athens Maine where Joseph Wescott was from. I am banging my head against the wall to find Mary V.'s maiden name. HELP!!!!!!!! Thanks Tracy

Gibson Twp was taken from Clearfield County to help makeup Cameron County. Driftwood is about 22 miles north of Drifting as the crow flies Jim in ClearfieldCounty" Regards, Jan
