Thanks Ken - It confirms that the Morrison and Hanes descendents didn't marry...... I guess I need to find more info on Henry and Keziah Haines...... Laura
Here is what I have on Morrison's from West Creek. You probably have most of this so I just showed the Descendant tree. If you want more detail on any of these, let me know. I do not have the names you mention. Most of this came from the Cameron County History book of 1991. Alice Morrison was my aunt and I used to do chores for her back around 1945-50. There are several DAR applications at the Museum from descendents of Brooks. Would there be any info on them that would be useful? They are from the 1920's. Yes, the Hout's had a Brewery there in Emporium. I came across a write up about that in the History of Cameron County, page 887. I found this years ago in my local library here in Cleveland, Ohio.. And if I may cut and paste a few lines from an e-mail Nancy Tracy sent me on March 24, 2004.. "Also have an article about a "strange find" in 2/3/1898 about a keg of beer found that had been brewed in the year 1864 by Chas. Hout." History of Cameron County page 887 Blumle Brewery was established in 1876, by F. X. Blumle, who that year erected the buildings on Weight's run, a half mile north of the junction. The capacity is about 500 barrels, the market for which is in Emporium. The bottling works were established by him in 1882. This took the place of Hout's Brewery. The pioneer brewery was on Hacket's land, on the Portage road. I'd would love to find out more about this, pictures of Hout's Brewery or the building it was in. Anything if anyone has any sources. Thanks, Matthew T. FURMAN, LEWIS, LOCKWOOD are my family's Wayne Furman
Hi Nancie, Here is my connection to the Spellenburg's. Elsie Hackett (daughter of Theodore who was son of Seymour) married Englebert (Bert) Spellenburg. He was the son of George Spellenburg and Elizabeth Salter. They had at least one son named Arthur, born c. 1912 in New York (according to a census). That is all I know. Are we talking about the same family? Thanks. Barbara
Guess I had better jump in here. Names I am researching in Emporium; Quinn and O'Malley. Near by: Carter, Confer, Cummings, Conklin, Sones, Evans, Payne, and Beer. I too enjoy the list for all the local information and ideas shared. It feels like family. Beverly Beverly Carter [email protected]
I too am working on the Park family from Emporium - anyone who can help - it would be greatly appreciated. The other families I am working on are: Elmquist Russell Steis Gardner Weissenfluh Thank you ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, April 07, 2004 9:49 AM Subject: [PA-CAMERON] Burr, Morgan, Parks & Piper > The names I am researching in Cameron County are: > > BURR > MORGAN > PARKS > PIPER > > Other names possibly in CC: > > ARMAGOST > BONNER > HELLYER > LE FEVER > SPANGLER > > > > > ==== PACAMERO Mailing List ==== > Come Visit The Cameron County Genealogy Project > http://www.rootsweb.com/~pacamero > >
I'm researching: JONES PIPER LYNCH BERRY WALTERS HINE I've met relatives we didn't know we had from this site. It's great! M. Jones
Hi Laura, My information/interest is on Elice Barrett Haynes, Sr. (b. 3/29/1898 in Gardeau, PA; d. 8/4/1974 in Custer, Whatcom County, WA) - a son of Walter Haynes (b. 3/1852) and Rachel ______Haynes (b. 7/1857). Elice had at least one brother: Chester Haynes (b. 12/1882 - probably in Norwich Township, McKean County, PA). Chester's family remained in Cameron-Potter-McKean Counties in the Gardeau/Keating Summit, PA areas. His line is being researched by his great grand-daughter Margaret Crosby from Port Allegany, PA. Elice (known to all as Barrett) married Arvilla Marie Cox (b. 7/15/1907 in Osceola Mills, PA; d. 12/25/1979 in Custer, Whatcom County, WA) on 1/1/1929. They had 12 children - all of whom are still living! They lived the first 25 years of their married life on Rock City Road outside Olean, NY and relocated in the mid 1950's to Custer, WA (north of Seattle) when Barrett accepted a transfer with Socony Vacuum Oil for whom he worked. Arvilla was a daughter of Charles Cox and Rosie Elmira Extrom and a sister to my father Jack Cox. Any connection to your Hayneses?
