    1. [PACAMBRI] Some Questions About Johnstown, PA

    3. I am trying to find some information about some relatives of mine who lived in Johnstown, PA from the late 1870's until right after the flood. Their names were David and Lena Myers (or Meyers) and I was able to find them in the 1880 census. I also found them in the 1889 City Directory. There were 5 people listed as living in the house at the time and all 5 survived the flood. I know that that would include David, Lena, and their son Charles who would have been 9 years old at the time and attending school. I'm trying to find out how they might have survived and who the other 2 people in the house were. I think that they might have had children after Charles, but I'm not sure. Here's what I would like to know if anybody has any information: 1. Their address was 57 1/2 Water Street. I can't find Water Street on a current map or one from the 1880's. The older maps usually have very small writing and are very hard to read. Does anyone know of Water Street and where it was located? 2. Do any birth records or school records still exist from Johnstown between 1880 and 1889 and, if so, where would I find them? I imagine that a lot of that was destroyed. I am eventually going to make a trip there, but it's about 5 hours from where I live so I want to know as much as possible before I go (hopefully this fall). Thanks, Eric Alexander
