    1. [PACAMBRI] Hotel on Lake Street-South Fork
    2. In the book, The South Fork Story, it says John McGoldrick on Lake Street, sells fine wine and liquors with good bar stock and everything up-to-date. The only mention of a hotel on Lake Street is the Lake Hotel, which became Hotel McKay noted for steam heat, hot and cold water baths and telephone. The book was written by Frank Alcamo and published back in the 1980's. My wife's grandmother, Edith Smith, lived in Sunshine, a section of South Fork, on the left as you came into town on Route 53. She was a maid at the Arlington Hotel, which I believe was on Grant Street where the bridge went across. She married Howard Peck, a conductor on the PRR. The Peck family lived down in the Hollow, near the brewery and Froggie Bottom where the creeks came together. The new Post Office is now on that piece of ground where the old PRR arch bridge crossed the creeks. Herman Nagle Altoona

    3. I am curious.   My mother Uncle Tom Bourdess was notorious in the family for spending way too much time in a house of ill repute on Lake Street...his son-in-law kept having to go get him after several days. My great-aunt Lizzie Bourdess (married to Albert Parker, also Marquedant, and I think 2 others) and was rumored to have been a madam. Could this be the hotel?  gail dickinson (researching bourdess, thomas ) ________________________________ From: "NagleH@aol.com" <NagleH@aol.com> To: PACAMBRI@rootsweb.com Sent: Tuesday, March 12, 2013 7:47 PM Subject: [PACAMBRI] Hotel on Lake Street-South Fork In the book, The South Fork Story, it says John McGoldrick on  Lake Street, sells fine wine and liquors with good bar stock and everything  up-to-date.
