I have been trying to find an earlier email where Terry Kruise research was quoted as to the burials of Hugh and Catherine Riffle-McMullen at St Augustine’s in 1887. St Augustine was founded in 1859. Which would lead someone to assume records at St Michael’s are wrong. It is not necessarily so. One needs to look at the historical context. If as late as 1887 there was still no permanent priest assigned to the facility at St Augustine, the records would be found at the home church of the itinerant priest. Later generations assume the record belongs at the wrong church and start to document it at St Michael'scemetery vice St Augustine. St Augustine Church needs to be contacted to see when their first permanent priest was assigned. I am also not aware of any complete records of a physical inventory of St Augustine cemetery. this needs to be done to photograph any physical proof of the Terry Kruise assertion. However given the census data Perry has sited for Clearfield Twp the physical burial at St Augustine post 1859 makes perfect logic. I wonder if Terry had found the obit for the Hugh that died in 1887. I'm not sure how else he would have found the quote. Also I thought that the Hugh that died in 1887 was born in 1802 or 1799 - I could be wrong there.
