Mr. Gray Junior, will no doubt think this is a pretty tough world he arrived in, as his grandpap's place is now roped in on account of the small pox. Editorial. The smallpox scare out in Susquehanna Township is alarming, and the authorities are making a solid stand to keep the disease confined to its present quarters. The North Cambria News, Hastings, PA, May 27, 1904 Smallpox Breaks Out Anew. Since our last issue, Mr. Joseph Miller of Susquehanna twp. has been stricken with the dreaded disease. The families of Messrs Benchar and Gazare between this place [Hastings] and Barnesboro in the same township, are also afflicted with the disease, and their homes together with Mr. Miller's, is roped in and a strict guard kept over them by the authorities. QUESTION: Is this the Lawrence Gray who is the father of Gordon Gray whose grandparents are Daniel and Sara Jones Gray. It seems to me that Gordon, from articles in the newspaper, was raised by his grandparents. At first I thought he was their son, but that is not in either obituary. Gordon was a barber and married my cousin Helena Kline from Hastings. Marilyn Kline Washington
