Ok I just checked it out again to verify what I am seeing on the federal census. 1920 definitely says Peelor Street in Westmont Borough, Cambria County, PA How interesting is this that something is really a fluke here. Either at one time there was a Peelor street in Westmont or the census taker made a huge mistake. Ok so as one of you have said, Peelor Street is in Prospect and just above Prospect is Eastmont. But on the census, it is clearly a "W" and says westmont. Thank you Sharon

I have never been to this area of Cambria Co. so I'm starting from square one. I did see John Fritz at 36 Peelor Street, Westmont in the 1920 census. Looking at the 1910 census his family is at the same Peelor Street Westmont address. On that same 1910 census page is maybe a cross street named McKeever Street in Westmont. I looked at both streets on a map. Peelor Street is indexed in Johnstown, east of Roosevelt Blvd - 403 & 56, a short street. McKeever Street is indexed in Westmont west of Roosevelt Blvd - 403 & 56. There is a Brownstown Volunteer Fire Department on that map of Westmont. I would think a note to them (or the Johnstown Fire Dept.) asking about Peelor Street, near McKeever Street, in the 1920s now renamed as ???? would answer your question or connect you to a local historian. Hi Jane, I found an article with a picture of Loretta Platt for her 100th birthday someone sent me from the Akron Paper in l955. Did I pass it on to you? I found one in the North Cambria News from 1902 titled OLD PIONEER DEAD ! Almost Ninety Years Old, Cleared Site for Carrolltown. Disasterous Fires. It is about the death of Michael Platt.
