    3. Hi Researchers, I need a little help here. I have Sarah Jones married to Daniel Gray. North Cambria News, Thursday, February 2, 1928 Mrs. Sara Gray, age 71, died last Friday at 6:00 o'clock at her home in Spangler from a complications of diseases. She was the widow of Daniel Gray. She is survived by the following children: Fidelis, New York City; Gilbert, Lawrence, and Harry, of Spangler; Elmer, at home; Mrs. E. Miller, St Benedict; Mrs Michael Byrnes, Barnesboro; and Mrs. Levi Kelly, of Spangler. ***She is survived by the following half-brothers and sisters: Edwin Jones, West Virginia; Hess Boring, Washington State: Mrs David Lawrence, and Mrs. Arthur Davis, of Barnesboro. The funeral mass was held at St. Patrick's Church in Spangler, and interment was made at St. Benedict [not sure if this means St. Joseph Church in St. Benedict, or St. Benedict's Church in Carrolltown.] The arrangements were in charge of M. J. Bacha Funeral Home. It says she has half-brothers and sisters. One half brother is Edwin Jones. To me this could indicate that her father was married prior to the birth of Sarah and Edwin is from his first marriage Now, it says Hess Boring. This could mean that her mother was also previously married to a ?? Boring and had Hess from that marriage, prior to the birth of Sarah. Anyway, does anyone know who the parents of Sarah Jones are and the first names of her sisters? Thanking you in advance. Beth

    3. Well, this one is really muddy. I have Daniel Gray listed as the son of Philip and Susanna Lantzy Gray, as does John Pfeister. I also have his wife listed as Sarah Jones with no other information about Sarah. It appears I got his wife's name from Marilyn K. Washington. Daniel's baptismal record lists him as the son of Philip and Elizabeth Lantzy. Of course, Philip was married to Susanna Lantzy; it was Philip's brother Henry who was married to Elizabeth Lantzy. from CATHOLIC VITAL RECORDS OF CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA, by Rev. A. Ledoux, Vol. III, page 217, record #4907: KRAEH, Danielis (Philippi/Elisabethae Lanzi) b. 05-22 bp. 06-14-1853 gp: Josepho Lanzi/Elisa Ursula Lanzi IB (St. Benedict, Carrolltown, PA) There are three family trees at ancestry.com that list Daniel as the son of Henry and Elizabeth with the birth date given above. One of them also lists a son Daniel born "abt 1853" for Philip and Susanna. There is only one Daniel Gray/Kraeh listed in Ledoux. It's not impossible that Elizabeth could have had Daniel (b. 22 May 1853) in between Andrew (b. 10 Aug 1852) and Theresa (b. 12 Sep 1854), but seems unlikely as the time between Andrew's birth and Daniel's is barely 9 months. I lean more in favor of Daniel being the son of Philip and Susanna. The tree that contains two Daniels both born in 1853 says the son of Henry and Elizabeth "died very young," and the son of Philip and Susanna was married to Sarah Jones with three children listed: Fidelis, Gilbert, and Lawrence. To make matters more interesting, Brian Cartwright has Daniel A. GREY born abt. 1853, no parents listed, married to Sarah Ann Boring with nine children including Fidelis, Gilbert, and Lawrence. Her mother is Mary Ann Keith and her father unknown. Brian also has a second marriage for Mary Ann Keith to an Unknown Boring who appears to be the father of all her children except Sarah. There are two other trees that include Mary Ann Keith. One has her married to Leonard Boring (1804-1880) with Catherine (Cassie) the only child listed (although there is a note saying they had two boys and four girls) and the other has her married to Adam Boring (1804-1867) with all the children including Sarah listed. Daughters Catherine and Nancy were born in 1873 and 1875. Did Mary Ann Keith have two Boring husbands? Where was Leonard in 1870? 18 Aug 1870 Green Twp, Indiana Co, Pa reel M593_1350 page 271a house 368 family 360 Penn Run P.O. Mrs. Mary Ann Boring, a daughter of Mrs. Leah Keith, who died last fall at the age of 102 years, died at her home in Grip, shortly after midnight Monday morning. Her death was caused by cancer from which she had suffered for a year. Four hours after Mrs. Boring's death her nephew, William Keith, died in Barnesboro from injuries sustained on February 3 when a tree fell on him. Mrs. Boring was aged 75 years and had always resided near Grip. Her husband died 25 years ago. She is survived by the following children: James and Hezekiah Boring, of Green township; *Mrs. Sarah Ann Gray* and Mrs. Lewis, of Spangler; and Mrs. Cassie Lowman, of Garman's Mills. The funeral services were held on Wednesday forenoon and were conducted by Rev. Armstrong. Interment was made in the McDowell graveyard. It gets better! In 1860 Mary Ann Keith is still living at home with her mother and siblings, her surname listed as Keith, and there is no Sarah, age three, in the household. There is no Sarah Boring in Indiana or Cambria Co. There is no Sarah Jones in Indiana Co. In 1870 there is a Sarah Jones, age 11 in Croyle Twp. with seven siblings, one of whom is a younger brother named Edwin. So is Mary Ann Keith really Sarah's mother or her step-mother? Did Sarah come to live with Mary Ann through her Boring marriage(s) or through a marriage to Unknown Jones before she married Unknown/Leonard/Adam Boring? Now we both need help! I emailed someone who posted a correction to the 1900 census for Barr Twp. where Mary Ann is living with daughter Eliza Ann and her husband Harry Good. Her surname was listed as Bourn or Borne. Maybe she can help sort out Mary Ann Keith's husbands. 1900 US Census, PA, Cambria Co., Barr Twp., T623-1387, ED 102, page 11B, image 22: GREY, Sarah A., HOH, Sep 1856, age 43, w, 10 children/9 living, PA Wales, PA, O/F farm Fidelus, son, Jul 1876, age 23, s, PA PA PA, Day Laborer Gilbert, son, Aug 1877, age 22, s, PA PA PA, Day Laborer Lawrence, son, Aug 1879, age 20, s, PA PA PA, Day Laborer Emma, dau, Dec 1882, age 17, s, PA PA PA Harry, son, Oct 1887, age 12, s, PA PA PA Elmer, son, Oct 1889, age 10, s, PA PA PA Roselia, dau, Mar 1893, age 7, s, PA PA PA Clara, dau, Jun 1894, age 5, s, PA PA PA Mary, dau, Feb 1896, age 4, s, PA PA PA The Cambria Co. There was no listing for Mary Gray married to Levi Kelly, but I had the Kelly surname, no given name, from Marilyn for Mary. I'll let you know if I hear more about Mary Ann Keith and her Boring relations. Beth Rykhus wrote: > Hi Researchers, > > I need a little help here.
