Saturday, October 17, 1903, Daily Tribune, Johnstown, Cambria, PA Mrs. George L. McGuire Matilda Luther, wife of George L. McGuire, died at her home in Allegheny Township, near Loretto, at 4:20 o’clock this morning, of paralysis, after an illness of two years, aged about 51 years. Mrs. McGuire is survived by her husband and the following children: Harry, of Loretto; Edward, of Cresson; Prof. William A. McGuire, of the Register and Recorder’s office, Ebensburg; Rose, a school teacher at Cresson; Annie, Zeda [Zita], Charles, and Viola McGuire, at home. Mrs. McGuire was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church for many years, and the Rev. Ferdinand Kittle will officiate at a requiem mass at 10 o’clock Monday morning. Internment will be made in the church cemetery. NOTE: A daughter, Elizabeth “Bessie”, is missing from the list of surviving children.
