George was born Jan 4, 1925 in Johnstown, Pa, the son of Christ and Helen Pappus. George D. and Terasia N. Taranto wer married July 22, 1948 in Johnstown, Pa. They moved from Trenton, Michigan to Forsyth in 1990. George retired from Great Lakes Steel after 21 years of service and worked as a consultant for Martin-Marietta. He was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War.
