    3. Mildred P. Masters Mildred P. Onstead Masters, 93, died on October 8, 2008, at her son's home in Camp Hill, PA. She was born on November 30, 1914 in Windber, PA, the daughter of John and Ella Kaufman Onstead and sister of brothers, George and James and sisters, Beatrice and Norma Onstead Shaffer. Mrs. Masters was a registered nurse, who graduated from Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing, Pittsburgh, PA, on August 31, 1935. She worked as a nurse from 1935, in Pittsburgh, PA, until retirement in Camp Hill, PA in 1978. She resided in Bethany Towers, Mechanicsburg, for over 30 years and was an active member of various committees and activities with her friends at Bethany. She was also a member of Camp Hill United Methodist Church and attended weekly vespers services at Bethany Towers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Attorney Harold L. Masters, a baby son, Robert Masters and daughter, Margaret Masters Weaver. Milly Masters is survived by her son James R. Masters and daughter in law, Joyce E. Masters, with whom she resided. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Julie E. Masters, of Mechanicsburg, PA and Jonathan R. Masters and his wife, Jeri Bookhammer Masters of Philipsburg, PA and her great-grandchildren, Julie's little ones, Matthew Duncan Masters, 7 years old and Hanna Elizabeth Masters, 5 years old of Mechanicsburg, PA, who kept her busy and involved each day. She leaves in addition to her local family, Thomas Shaffer, Henderson, Nevada, Dr. Ruth Masters, North Huntington Twp., Pittsburgh, PA, Jack Onstead, of Naples, Florida and their families. A memorial service is planned at Bethany Towers, 335 Wesley Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, 717-766-7698, on Sunday, October 12, 2008, at 1 p.m., officiated by Reverend James B. Browning. She has requested that she be buried next to her husband and children in Grandview Cemetery, North Versailles, PA.
