McGuire, 80, a former teacher who retired in 1980 after 15 years as a grant administrator with the National Institutes of Health, died of complications from bronchitis and emphysema March 7 at a hospital in Boca Raton, Fla. She lived in Bethesda from 1961 to 1980 and then moved to Delray Beach, Fla. Mrs. McGuire was a native of Ebensburg, Pa., and an economics graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. She worked as a department store model in Pittsburgh, where she was an artist. After moving to the Washington area, she taught English at Bethesda-Chevy Chase and Walt Whitman high schools in Bethesda until 1965. She was a member of Edgemoor Tennis Club. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Patrick Henry McGuire Jr. of Delray Beach; two sons, Patrick H. McGuire III and Michael Evans McGuire, both of Bethesda; and five grandchildren.
