Marilyn, Charles Huber was only ever married once. The name never was Hubler it was Huber but sounded like Hoover which is the way many spelled it. when some of the descendants found out that is actually Huber they changed back to Huber. My grandfather told me he heard his mothers maiden name as both Huber and Hoover. It was used interchangeably. Nagle (Nagel) obit. 1856-1934 I thought Charles had one wife who was a Noel. Either John or Francis has a wife who was a Noel, didnt't he? Do you know where any of the three Hubers lived in Smokey Valley? John Huber told me that the name was originally "Hubler," which was a specific type of farmer [what type, he didn't know or didn't tell me." He say many of the Hubers started to spell it "Hoover," but when they discovered the above face, they changes the spelling back to Huber. Don't know if that is true. Wasn't Rose Huber, the wife of Benjamin Hupfer, a Huber? I remember noticing she spelled her name differently than some of her brothers, though I can't remember the details. I have a copy of John Huber's book about his Huber family. Have you seen it? If this is the Hastings-Elder wnship Charles Nagle, he was married to a Noel, but I can't remember her name. e could, of course, have married a second time. This is the family of John Huber, the late genealogist, father of Dave Huber. e published a book which should have the information. arilyn Kline Washington -----Original Message----- om: Mary Hoffherr <[email protected]> : eflad <[email protected]>; pacambri <[email protected]> nt: Wed, Oct 19, 2011 4:42 pm bject: Re: [PACAMBRI] Francis J.
