Friday, October 7, 1910 Volume 44, Number 39 Death of a Young Man Cornelius Morris, the 17-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Morris of Cambria Township, died at the home of his parents, about two miles southwest of Ebensburg last Saturday after an illness of some months. Several months ago Cornelius Morris was afflicted with a disease which began in his foot and paralyzed the great toe. The progress of the disease could not be arrested and the paralysis continued to spread. Local physicians recommended that the young man be taken to specialists in Philadelphia. This was done and it was discovered that a clot of blood had formed and was bearing down on the brain. Some temporary relief was given but the nature of the operation necessary for the removal of the obstruction was such as to render the same fatal. The boy is survived by his parents and several brothers and sisters. The funeral took place from the Holy Name Catholic Church on Tuesday morning with interment in the new Catholic cemetery. The funeral was attended by the Holy Name Sodality in a body, of which the young man was a member. James Clark Campbell James Clark Campbell of Derry, a brakeman in the employ of the PRR, was dropping cars down one of the tracks in the Pitcairn yard and was applying a brake when the wheels of the car he was on twisted off and he was thrown to the tracks. The engine and seven cars ran over him, causing injuries from which he died later in the Union Station at Pittsburg. Resident of Lilly Dies at Hospital Following an operation for gangrenous appendicitis Monday, John Fray of Lilly died at the Memorial Hospital yesterday. The deceased was in a serious condition when brought here. He was 61 years old and is survived by his mother, Mrs. Susanna Fray and a sister, Mrs. Simon Mussleman of Lilly. Man Known Here Dies Word has been received in Ebensburg of the death several days ago of A. B. Eliott of Red Oak, Ia., well known in Ebensburg. The deceased years ago married Mary E. Hughes of this place, a sister of Thomas W. Hughes of South Ebensburg.
