    3. Someone asked about the Sibert family and I just found this article. He ran a garage that sold new cars, and supplied the driver's ed. car at Hastings Elder HS through 1960 when the school merged to form Cambria Heights. After that three of his sons ran the garage. There was a second Seybert family in Westover, but they came from Syberton, near Chest Springs. The parents of a large family died, leaving dependent children who were adopted by various Clearfield County families around Westover. North Cambria News, Hastings, PA, May 16, 1935 HEART ATTACK FATAL TO JOHN SIBERT John Sibert, prominent business man of this place, died at his home on Beaver Street at 4:30 O'clock Monday evening, death being attributed to a heart attack. Mr. Siberts had lain down for a nap, When Ms. Sibert went to arouse him about 5 o'clock life was apparently extinct and when a physician was summoned, he announced that death had probably occurred a half hour before. John Sibert was born in Homer City, Indiana County, January 25, 1882, the son of Adam and Sarah [Lilly] Sibert, both deceased. He came to Hastings when he was but a small lad, and had resided here since. Mr. Sibert was always prominently connected with the business affairs of Hastings and was interested in the civic welfare of the community. At one time he was manager of the Hastings Opera House, which post he held for a period of 12 years. He later became proprietor of the Hastings Auto Company. On January 1, 1926, Mr Sibert assumed the office of Burgess of Hastings for a four-year term. Before his election as burgess, he served as a member of Borough Council for 11 years. At the time of his death, he was in charge of the Sibert Garage. Mr. Sibert held membership in the Eagles, Loyal Order of Moose and Woodsmen of the World lodges. On November 23, 1899, Mr. Sibert was united in marriage with Miss Josephine Lacour, of Houtzdale. Mrs. Sibert and seven children survive: Edward, of Colver; Hazel, a member of the faculty of the Hastings Public Schools, and William, Dorothy, Pauline, Robert, and Donald, all at home. Surviving also is one grandson and a brother, William Sibert, of this place. The funeral was conducted this [Thursday] morning with a high mass of requiem in St. Bernard's Church at 9 o'clock.
