The Cambria county website has a Photos section, Mystery Photos. -----Original Message----- From: pacambri-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:pacambri-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Mary Hoffherr Sent: Sunday, February 24, 2013 3:23 PM To: Message Subject: [PACAMBRI] old photos needing help in identifying people Just in the last few weeks I have had people ask if I could help identify people in some of the old photos they have. Unfortunately, so many people have passed and they have no one to help identify relatives from the past. Is there a website we can go to to put photos on line to see if someone could help us identify the people in these photos. Should or could we set something up to help people in their search? 1. [PACAMBRI] Willard Ling WW II Vet honored
    2. JCTripp
    3. Willard Ling of Johnstown was a WW II vet honored by a photo and mention in the 2004 WW II Memorial calendar. The photo is probably the one posted on the WW II Memorial website by his family, but pretty cool to have a family member honored in this way. If any relative wants the calendar, I'll mail it to you. Just email me off list. I just have the one calandar I saved. I did see the 2012 obit for Willard's brother, Clifford Ling, buried at Grandview. Read that as I think this is Willard's brother. Other relative's names included in Clifford's obit are Lowman Ling (father) Mildred Tozer (mother) Irma E. Benson of Richland (sister) Lois Silk of Southfield, MI (sister) Ronald & Jean Ling of Parma (brother) nieces and nephews not named. Both my parents were WW II vets. If they were honored with a name and photo like Willard was, I'm sure one of the grandkids would want the calendar. Regards, Jane Tripp

    3. I'm following Mary Ann Luther, daughter of Henry and Anna Weakland Luther. I think I found her in the 1910 census living with a Walter Luther, his wife Stella and children; Francis, Helen and Cora. Juniata Ward 3, Blair, PA, T-624, #1317, ED 74, page 42a. She is listed as a "Border". A Luther listed as a "border" of a Luther certainly has me interested. Who is this Walter? Is this the correct Mary Ann? What happened to her? Thanks Jack

    1. [PACAMBRI] Tax records
    2. Ellen
    3. I need to go to Ebensburg to view the tax records for the vicinity of Gallitzen in the years about 1870 to 1880. My great grandfather lived there while he worked on the railroad. While they were living there his first wife died in 1878. For both the 1870 and 1880 census records he was back home in Bedford County, but family stories put him in Gallitzen during this decade, and it was the location of her death in 1878. I hope the tax records will pin down the years he lived in Gallitzen. I'm hoping someone knows where these records are -- court house, historical society, archive??? Also, would he have lived right in Gallitzen or somewhere outside of town? Thanks, Ellen
