More recently, Susan Bearer took the photograph at: http://www.camgenpa.com/cems/WCaHarts/p092a.html. If you look at the one that Susan took, it looks like the dirt was disturbed under the stone, as if it was a recently installed stone. I'm under the assumption that the stones are for the same person. Can anyone confirm or deny that this is the case? Thanks!! Diann

    2. Are there any old time South Fork residents or historians that would be willing to help me try to identify some snapshots of residents that were taken by my Mother-in-laws family, The Pecks from around 1925 to 1935 in South Fork? Send me your e-mail address and I will forward photos for you to see. Thank you. I am working on a 150 page plus booklet regarding the history of the Peck Family from Honey Grove and Blain PA on Tuscarora Mountain to Coalport, Rosebud, Blain City and South Fork. This book includes the Civil War & families of the Pecks, Vaughns, Kurfoots, Johns, Wilsons, Ellis', Smiths, Costlows, Ulmers, and Townsends. 1. [PACAMBRI] matthew mcdowell death date
    2. Joyce Homan
    3. Hi all, I had put in an earlier request about Matthew McDowell and if anyone could suggest how to find information on his accident (at least, that's what we think happened.) The exact date of death, I believe, was March 20, 1865, if that helps to narrow it down. He's interred in Grandview. Thanks again for all the help!Joyce _________________________________________________________________ Get more out of the Web. 3. Thanks to everyone who sent me an article or shared their memories about the Cresson Mountain accident. It's amazing what stories researching your family history will bring out--I'm 38 and this is the first time my mom ever shared that one with me. I have one more request--another cousin of mine has been trying to find any information on one of our relatives, Matthew McDowell, who was killed around 1835 (we believe on the railroad). His brother, James Boal McDowell, was hit by a train also within a few months of that time period, and my cousin has found an article on him, but nothing on Matthew. Any suggestions on where to look would be much appreciated. Thanks again for all the help. I love this group!Joyce _________________________________________________________________ Want to do more with Windows Live? 3. I was trying to put the RootsMagic program onto the SanDisk so I can use my (file) in that program anywhere. The way it stands now, only compatible programs copy to Cruizer SanDisk U3 and RootsMagic, among some others, do not. They tell you that on the SanDisk instructions. The problem will be fixed for RM in their new version at the end of the year. It is up to the software manufacturer to allow that. So I will wait until then, upgrade and retry it. Some Cruizer Sandisks are for one thing but some like this one that my son bought me uptakes Programs like for games and other things as well. It seems it is geared to that program aspect. I can put files on it but not some programs. Have not tried to put my Excel program on it yet either. I hope I have that right about some accepting Programs and others not as per Sandisks. I have those other types of flash drives and they do what you are doing but this is about programs so you can run different things elsewhere where they do not have that program on their computer. ----- Original Message ----- From: Jack O'Connor To: James Thomas Rosenbaum Sent: Tuesday, September 30, 2008 7:05 PM Subject: RE: [PACAMBRI] FTM James I have FTM and I use flash drives but I have no idea what you're referring to. 3. Some genealogy programs make entries difficult for entering alternative relationship and I have asked RM if they were going to update their setup and the below was their reply to me. I know FTM addresses it somewhat but I think there needs to be more options for the USER of a genealogy program to choose or name the category rather than the program dictating it. As I understand it there is more work to allow for same sex unions RootsMagic Technical Support Phone: 801-489-3102, option 2 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: "James Thomas Rosenbaum" <jtr@atlanticbb.net> Sent: Tue, 30 Sep 2008 20:28:06 -0700 To: "RootsMagic Support" <support@rootsmagic.com> Subject: Re: [371-1075394C-5ABA] U3 Sandisk Also, are they going to incorporate the gender problem with marriages and now that it has become legal for same sex people to marry and that it is presenting a problem for entering data that is legal and published. I wish they would address this issue about marriage options and to set whether it is partnership/marriage/companions/friends/etc and to allow the USER to NAME that category rather than the program doing so since times are in flux on all of these issues. It is not the USER's opinion that matters, his position is and should only be the recorder of facts position and only that, just like historians do. jim James Thomas Rosenbaum 310 Melvin Street Johnstown, Cambria Co., PA 15904-1219 814-266-6855
