I have a letter that his son John wrote during the Civil War, it is lightly written in pencil, with only a backpack for a table; and a school 'certificate of merit' for John. However, I do not have a spouse name, marriage date, or death place or date for him. Nor do I know of any offspring. I appreciate the information on Mary Strain, do you know anything of her siblings, or William's parents? Or anything about his immigration?
