The project committee of the Butler County Genealogical Society is happy to present the first part of the index of the Standard Steel Car Company's employee record cards. Read about these great records, what they contain, and how to obtain copies at www.bcgs.us. Surnames beginning with the letters A through L, except for the letter C are now available. The Butler County Historical Society is in the process of compiling a book on all of Butler County's Schools. Included in the book are maps of each township with the location of each school marked, photos of the schools, photos of school children, and some reminiscences of people who attended one room school houses. The Society is asking people to check their archives for school photos and either donate their photos or donate a scanned photo along with permission for us to use the photos.
