They were painted Pullman Red which was the color that the Standard Steel Car Co./Pullman Standard painted the pullman railroad cars. The people that lived in those row houses worked at the plant and living conditions were very poor. I think the Historical Society may have a photo of these housing units and it seems to me that there are 6 units per building, not 3.
