She was a young widow about 26 years old, younger than some of William John (Little Billy)children. He was 58 (had 9 children with his first wife). The story goes that Jane had been taking care of William John's first wife (Jane Wasson)and that he married Jane Currie shortly after his first wife's death. This caused problems with his children from the first marriage, the two youngest sons left home. William John and his second wife had 5 children: Thomas Reed McCall (1852-1885), Mary Ann McCall (1854-1855), Euphemia Louise (1856-1930), Mary (1859-1918) and Alice Jane (1862-1930). 1850 Francis and Jane Curry - Children Wm and Margaret living in Butler Co., Franklin Twp. 1860 Wm and Jane McCaul - Children Jemima, Thomas R, Uphamy, Mary, and Wm's son John (he was widowed at this time), living in Butler Co., Clay Twp. 1870 Wm J and Jane McCall - Children Thomas, Louisa, Mary living in Butler Co., Clay Twp. 1880 Jane G. McCall living with son Thomas R, his wife Elizabeth and their children Francis, Walter and Alice, and Thomas's sister Alace. (spellings as on census forms) Hope this helps.
