This is DNA you inherit only from your mothers. Sons have it but do not pass it on to their children -- who have THEIR mother's (ie the son's wife's). Daughters pass it on to their children. In my case my great grandmother was Margaret SEibert and her mother was a Renick and her's Margaret Hunter. So my mito DNA is her's -- as yours is if you descend on the female line. Margaret Hunter's mito DNA is J1c3a . This is rare in Europe. Maybe 10% of Germans have it. However a quarter of Arab women have it. It originated in the mid east and probably came to Europe with neolithic times. Has anyone thought to start a tree at Ancestry? If not I'll upload mine -- then we can all start working on it. Also some Rennick cousins in Langensalzen have a rose garden business: http://www.rosenhof-roenigk.de/ Linda Merle (no wedding pictures, alas) Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
