Rick, Do you live in the Butler Co. area? My hope is to meet with others and discuss the pictures, possibly at the public library for those not familiar with the Butler Co., Pa. area. The originals do not belong to me, but the out of state owner may be willing to share with those connected to the family. Her first attempts to get them to me was by attachment. That didn't work well, so she sent then by mail. Sometimes pictures received are faded or dog-eared. These have been well cared for. They are wonderfully sharp and clear. Glee
Hi Glee I live up in Erie, a good stones throw up the road. My Grandmother and her parents are from butler. My great great grandfather was the chief Burgess there a couple of years, he was also part owner of the first powerplant in Bulter. The other thing that you can do with the pictures is have them scanned onto a computer and then put on disk. My wife is in marketing and I user her software all the time. You can bring back the black and white color and correct any problems in the photo.( most any problem anyway). Most any Marketing firm in the area should be able to scan the photos, as well as some computer stores. Actually most anyone with a scanner on their computer can do it and save them as a JPEG My great grandparents had quite a large family. My grandmother had 13 aunts and uncles before marriage. Some of the surnames are Baxter, McCurdy, Laskey,Byers, Miller, and a couple of others that I can not remember off of the top of my head. I definitely would like to learn more about the area as it seems I have quite a few relations still in the area Keep in touch Rick ----- Original Message ----- From: <GrannyGlee@aol.com> To: <PABUTLER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, July 28, 2002 10:13 AM Subject: Re: [PABUTLER-L] John Hall & Sidney J.
