James G. Marshall's parents were Samuel Marshall and Mary Gilleland, married in 1825. Samuel was a judge and very highly respected, apparently, according to the "History of Butler County Pennsylvania - 1883". http://www.rootsweb.com/~pabutler/1883/ So it makes sense that Samuel Marshall would have been the executor of those wills. I don't know how Samuel could be related to these other surnames, if in fact he was. I haven't researched those names. But I have a lot of wives of Marshall's for whom I don't know their maiden names, and some daughters for whom I don't know their married name, so who knows! Samuel and Mary had a farm in Cranberry Twp., which became part of Adams Twp. but several of their children still lived in Cranberry Twp. Samuel's daughter Jane married William Goehring in 1845 and lived there. Terri Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
