    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: quippian59 Surnames: Butler Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.pennsylvania.counties.butler/9118.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am not connect to this name but am simply helping you out, so with that in mind, heres what i found on ancestry in there uk records, 1881 shws the family of Joseeph Butler age 35 house painter born in ireland with his wife Mary Jane age 33, there kids are Joseph age 8 born in Salford Lancashire County uk, Francis a son age 4 born in Yorkshire County in Castleford, a son William age 3 born Castleford in county Yorkshire, and daughter Annie aged 8 months also born in Yorkshire County in Castleford, there home isin Castleford, Yorkshire County in 1881, now in 1891 family is living in Hulme in Lancashire County,Oldham shows Joseph age 45 house painter, wife Mary J age 43 but this census shows born Ireland for Mary J, kids are Joseph age 18, William age 13, Anne age 12, Walker age 7 who is born in Oldham,Lancashire County, and a daughter Mary age 3 also born in Oldham Lancashire County they live at number 27 looks like marine St too many letters to be Main st, now going backwa! rds in time to 1871, I cant say for sure about this one but this could be the same Joseph Butler age 25 listed as house painter, wife Mary age 22 listed as mantle maker, and they have one son Robert age 3 months, but in this census mary is listed as being born in Manchester, Lancashire, the family is living in Hulme Lancashire County, now as far as the 1901 uk census I didnt come up with Joseph, so I tried with that name Walker instead but I believe that when Walker was used in 1891 that may have been a middle name as there was only one Walker Butler in England in 1901 and it didnt match up to the birth year but there were loads of W for middle names that could fit in that census, I would have tried Mary but being Mary is a common name and not knowing if he died and she remarried it would make it almost impossible to find by her first name since a million Mary's over there-lol, now as far as death, another possiblity but not sure if this ones right, Joseph Butler died 1915 ! registered in Sept of that year, in Oswesta Denbigshire county Uk, the re werent alot of Josephs that died after 1900 that were born in that 1845 1846 period, according to age and census his real birth year should be 1846, there wre several deaths for Joseph more in late 1890's that were born abt 1845 or 1847 which is right in that 1846 period since ther saying born abt and not the exact year, so thats what I got for you! Good day! Tom Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
