Yes Portersville is in Butler County. There is 2 Presbyterian churches there. There is one up on the hill on Rt 19 and then one just off of 488 (Mountville Presbyterian Church) which would be Muddy Creek Township. Pat Is Portersville in Butler, Co.? I have continuously come up with dead ends in researching my ancestors from Western PA and am hoping to locate a Presbyterian church they might have gone to in Portersville where they were from. I don't know which one they may have gone to, just that if they went it was to a Presbyterian one. Hopefully whatever one it was they kept some records. The time frame I'm looking for is mid- to late-1800s.
