William Turner Jr. John McCandless was a brother of my 2g-grandfather, William McCandless - both sons of John McCandless & Jane Carothers. Their dau Mary Ann Turner 1820-1908 m. Adam Black 1814-1888 (son of Robert Black & Betsy Grossman). Their children: Robert P.; William P.; Ann Elizabeth m. Giles O'Vogan; John M.; Jane m. William Hilton Tinker; Martha Clementine m. Clarence Bard; Sarah Ella m. Smiley Smith; Joseph Alfred m. Mary "Polly" McCallen; John T. I have a number of Blacks starting with Alexander Black Sr. b. IRL d. 1875 Clay Twp m. Elizabeth McElhaney b. IRL d. 1873 Clay Twp - children were Elizabeth m. William McElhaney; Catherine m. John McKinney; Esther m. William McKinney; Alexander Jr m. Angelina Christy; Samuel, Rebecca, Martha. Angelina Christy was sister of my grandfather, Rev. Alvin J. Christy, and dau of Joseph Williamson Christy & Sarah Keister. And I have a Daisy Edna Dunn b 1879 Washington Co, IN, d. 1970 Kingman, KS, m. 1896 Kingman, KS, Alvin Lynn McCandless b. 1877 Butler Co, PA, d. 1922 Pine Bluff, AR. Daisy Edna was dau of William Thomas Dunn & Susan Alice Wilson; Alvin L. was son of Martin Luther McCandless (my greatuncle) & Nannie Lourimore Ramsey.
