I am looking for descendants of Joseph Fremont and Elizabeth Shields (Porter) Campbell for a get together in the Butler area. We would like to meet either May 28 or May 29. Joseph, son of William and Jane (Beatty) Campbell, was born 2-28-1831 in Pa. and died 12-29-1913 in Fairview Township. He had been a former county treasurer and a veteran of the civil war. He was married 11-25-1852. His wife, Elizabeth, was born 9-20-1827 in Westmoreland County and died 4-20-1912 in Fairview Township, Butler County. They had seven children, Olivia Simonetta (Campbell) Goal, William Lyle Campbell, Lula Jane (Campbell) Foss, Oscar Serretus Campbell, Ulysses "Ambrose" Campbell, Eleanora Lajolla "Nora" Campbell, and Robert James Campbell. Joseph and Elizabeth's second child, William Lyle Campbell, married to Ida (Hepler) Campbell, has a descendant from Minnesota that will be in Butler a few days later this month. It was his wish to meet with others from his Campbell and Hepler lines. I 've found a Hepler relative that has promised to meet.
