Etta, Orphans Court J.D. MARSHALL was guardian of Susan M. WRIGHT, and S.L. STILLWAGON was guardian of Pearl Eva WRIGHT. I have been searching for information on this STILLWAGON family. Pearl Eva WRIGHT b. Mar 5, 1886, Renfrew, Butler County, PA married John T. SMITH in Slippery Rock in 1906. Pearl's parents were: Samuel WRIGHT b. Nov 7, 1843, probably Butler County, d. May 1, 1898 Butler County, PA, buried White Oak Springs Church, Connoquenessing, married Sept 28, 1878 to his SECOND wife Laura McGOWAN b. 1858 PA d. Mar 15, 1886, buried White Oak Springs Church. At Samuel's death, he left the 2 above mentioned minor daughters. Samuel's second wife, Laura, was the d/o John McGOWAN b. c 1821, and Susannah "Susie" (nee unknown) b. c 1824 in Susquehanna County, PA, d. April 13, 1904 in Slippery Rock Township, Butler County, and is buried in Butler. Some of Laura's siblings were: William McGOWAN b. c 1849 Marietta "Mary" McGOWAN b. c 1851 m. possibly Reuben Horace MCQUISTION "Susie" Malissa McGOWAN b. c 1860 "Nettie" Elmira P.? McGOWAN b. c 1866 m. Alonzo W. McCULLOUGH Elizabeth "Jane" McGOWAN b. c. 1846 Plummer W. McGOWAN b. 1875 Prospect On the 1880 Census this family is living in Prospect, PA. I don't know the parents of John McGOWAN b. 1821. Plummer McGOWAN never married, died age 56, and was a farmer in West Liberty, PA. The FIRST wife of Samuel WRIGHT, was CATHERINE A. McGOWAN b c. 1848 d. July 21, 1876, buried White Oak Springs Church, Connoquenessing, PA I believe she was the daughter of another JOHN McGOWAN from Whitestown, PA. b. c. 1800. Catherine's siblings were: George McGOWAN b.c 1825 m. Margaret MARSHALL Lyle "Lillie" McGOWAN m. LEVI FINNEY William McGOWAN m. Amanda SARVER Mary Jane McGOWAN m. His parents were David WRIGHT d. c 1849 living his widow, JANE ST. CLAIR b. c. 1822 d. Dec 26, 1893, and their 3 minor children: Samuel (or DAVID SAMUEL) WRIGHT William John WRIGHT b. Jan 29, 1846 Eleanor Emeline WRIGHT Jan 21, 1849 m. Enos POWELL A few years after the death of DAVID WRIGHT d. c. 1849, his widow JANE ST. CLAIR WRIGHT married widower WILLIAM McGOWAN b. 1811 d. 1883 Connoquenessing Township, Butler County, PA. There were 3 children from this union: Margaret Elizabeth MCGOWAN b. 1856 d. 1857 David D. McGOWAN who never married Robert K. McGOWAN b. Oct 1868 m. Sylvia Lauretta STEWART The first wife of WILLIAM McGOWAN b. 1811, was MARY BEAM b. c. 1806 and married about 1835. They had 10 children born between 1837-1851: George McGOWAN d. 1866 John McGOWAN James McGOWAN d. 1840 William McGOWAN d. 1861 Civil War Leonard McGOWAN d. 1845 Isaac McGOWAN Delilah McGOWAN Katherine McGOWAN d. 1871 m. What can I find in the Butler County Veteran's Affairs Office? Where can I access these records? I made a copy of a page that shows individuals history (short) and then it lists the various sources and this is one that I didn't recognize. Iris
