    1. [PABUTLER-L] Pettigrew Family
    2. I've been told that my grandfather, George Pettigrew, died May 1958 in a veteran's hospital in Butler County. I know little else about him except that he had lived in Graterford at one time and worked for PA Railroad. Any info?

    3. There is a Veteran's Administration Hospital in Butler that is still functioning as such. You could send for George's death certificate from the Office of Vital Records in New Castle, PA. You could also send for his military records. You will find a link to the Vital Records Office at: www.rootsweb.com/~pabutle2 His death certificate should give his date of birth and date of death, the cause of death, the undertaker, the cemetery where interred, his parents names and where they were from. Usually a family member gave this information and their name (signature) is included on the death certificate as well as their address. Some of this information is not always on the death certificate if the person giving the info didn't know it.
