I've got seven of them in my database (without trying very hard). Three of them are roughly contemporary - I forget offhand how many served in the Civil War... Fortunately for my peace of mind, my ancestor frequently distinguished himself as "Jeremiah C. RALSTON". He was born 3 Jul 1837 in Pennsylvania (probably Butler Co, but I have no proof of that). He was among the sons of William RALSTON (~1809-1863) and Isabella CAMPBELL (1814 - 1880). After his Civil War service (in the Company G of the PA 134th Regiment) he married Abigail COVERT, daughter of Morris/Maurice COVERT jr (both his parents were COVERTS) and Margaret WIMER (both her parents were WIMERS). The wedding was on 19 Jul 1865 in Lancaster Twp., Butler Co, PA. Jeremiah C. Ralston and Abigail Covert appear to have had six children; I have names and dates for four, three of whom survived to adulthood and married.
