Hello, I checked my records further and this is the information I have about the Zangs. John Zang, born 1809 in Germany married Barbara Schick, born 1809 in Germany. Children were Margaret born 1834 Barbara born1837 Michael born 1840, died 28 March, 1912 Sarah born 22 Nov, 1842, died 17 Apr 1928 John born 1845 Charles born 27 Feb, 1848 Mary born 1850 The 1870 census shows two of John's sons in one household Zang, Michael age 27 Zang, Catherine age 25 wife of Michael Zang, Charles Sr. age 22 Zang, Charles, Jr. age 2 son of Charles, Sr. I could not find Charles, Sr. in the 1880 census. I did find in one household Sang, Michael age 35 Sang, Catherine age 35 wife Smith, William age 20 stepson Smith, John age 18 stepson Smith, Marg age 16 stepdaughter Sang, Charles age 10 son Sang, Annie age 6 daughter Sang, Joseph age 3 son Keefer, Barbara age 67 mother-in-law The 1900 census shows Sang, Charles born July, 1870 Sang, Elizabeth born 1872 wife The 1910 census shows Sang, Charles age 40 Sang, Elizabeth age 38 wife Sang, Catherine age 9 daughter Sang, Irene age 8 daughter Sang, Alvin age 6 son Sang, Earl age 1 son The 1920 census shows Zang, Charles age 50 Zang, Elizabeth age 48 wife Zang, Catherine age 19 daughter Zang, Irene age 17 daughter Zang, Alvine age 16 son Zang, Earl age 10 son Zang, Lucill age 8 daughter Zang, Catherine age 81 mother Hope this helps those looking for Charles Zang. Looks like he was son of Michael Zang and grandson of John Zang. Ihave seen the name spelled Zang, Sang, and Lang. Zang is the correct spelling.
