Hello Ed, Could you please look for John Snyder or Snider in the 1860 & 1870 census. John is listed in the 1850 census in his father, Samuel Snider's, household as 22 years old in Armstrong Co. Pine Twp. His father then moved to Winfield Twp Butler Co in 1852 but John is not listed with him after the 1850 census. John Snyder appears in the 1880 census in Winfield Twp Butler Co.. Pam, I am not Ed, but I enjoy digging so I thought I would do some digging as well....I have checked all of the following in the 1860 Census Armstrong and Butler Counties and none of these seems to be your John... Could he have been living in another county??? Anyone know geography of Pennsylvania well enough to know the counties in between Armstrong and Butler??? Susan, I also have SNYDER ancestors, but further back. It's possible your John SNYDER could be connected to Valentine SNYDER (1750/55-btn 1811-1818) who finally settled in Armstrong Co., PA; which is now Clarion Co., PA. Let me know if you want the family group I compiled for him. I would need to e-mail it to you privately since it takes up a few pages.
