Just a quick update on the status of the renovations to the Butler Public Library. To date, after only 10 months of fund-raising, a total of 2 million, 300 thousand dollars has been raised. The community only needs to donate another $350,000 and those funds will be matched to reach the total 3 million needed for completion of the renovations. Work commenced in April and things are getting pretty torn up at this point. Access is not impaired to the library though and the genealogy department is still intact. New furniture for the genealogy department is due in by the end of August and then it sounds like the genealogy department will move into its new area. The birth records project is moving along with about half of the records completed and lots of proofreading still to be completed. We will be putting thte first part of those records online by the end of August. "Volunteer of Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness at http://www.raogk.org/"
