McDeavitt(b.1872),husband of Ida Robinson(b.1871). My grandfather was Albert William McDeavitt(1916-1999),husband of Alberta Hemphill(1920-1992). My father was Jesse John McDeavitt(1942-1999), all of the above from Butler Co. Penn. I figure we must be decended from Daniel McDeavitt from Ireland (b.1750 in Ireland,married to Elizabeth Sturgeon,settled Brady,PA in 1797, Kids: Henry,James,Catherine), but I remember my father telling me that we are more Scottish than Irish, which would explain the whole stone mason angle. I am trying to find the Scottish ancestor and trace my lineage back to Scotland.
