My interest in the WOLFORD family goes back to the German origins in Wuerttemberg & Baden of WOHLFAHRT/WOLFHARDT. I am not descended from the American WOLFORDs, but have worked with descendants in an attempt to prove Johannes/John WOLFHARDT/WOLFORD of Berks Co PA was a descendant. About 5 generations of descendants of Henry & Mary (FRICK) WOLFORD are in my database and will gladly share these. Henry's father, Johannes/John WOLFORD was the s/o John Georg WORLFORD and 1/w Elizabeth ZIMMERMAN. Henry's mother is believed to have been Maria Barbara YOCKEY (JACKE in Westmoreland Co), but had not been proven the last I heard. I will be glad to share these American records (about 1800 descs) either by gedcom or .rtf with anyone interested. Sharon A. Huffman sharhuff @aol.com
Hi Sharon, Thanks, I'd love to share. The name "YOCKEY" and Westmoreland Co rang a bell - I've corresponded off and on for some time with Janet K Warter (nee Kirchner), her grandmother was Clara May YOCKEY 1883-1914 whose father was Benjamin Harrison YOCKEY 1854-1926 m. Anna Mary Barnhart 1853-1935. My connection with Janet is through the Brinker family. I don't know but it's possible Janet has more info about the YOCKEY family. Last email I have for her is: jkwarter@socal.rr.com I take it that "Yockey" is an anglicized spelling of "Jacke"? -Mary maryliz1@attbi.com ----- Original Message ----- From: <Sharhuff@aol.com> To: <PABUTLER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, January 13, 2003 6:50 AM Subject: [PABUTLER-L] Re: WOLFORD > My interest in the WOLFORD family goes back to the German origins in > Wuerttemberg & Baden of WOHLFAHRT/WOLFHARDT.
