Could anyone tell me: ....How I could find the birthdate of someone who came to US in 1826 from Germany and was born in Germany in 1806? He didn't die until the 1880's. Did he ever have to register to vote? Did he ever have to get a "drivers license"? How would I find out who his parents were? How else could I find out this information? Thank you for any help at all in this matter. Beth

Obituary Church Death / Burial Records Death certificate? if not too early for the state Federal Census (1850-1880) State Census (usually have more information) History of .... county / local histories which may have biographies Civil War participation (may be too old) Naturalization papers .. first and/or final I have seen 'Allegiance Papers' as well as Sobriety Papers which have information .. just not sure where to find them. Tax records will tell you where they were for exact years Ship passenger record should give you a date (emigration should tell you exactly where born and occupation) ----- Original Message ----- From: "IAMBETH" <iambeth@attbi.com> To: <PABUTLER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, January 14, 2003 5:48 PM Subject: [PABUTLER-L] QUESTIONS > Could anyone tell me: > ....How I could find the birthdate of someone who came to US in 1826 from Germany > and was born in Germany in 1806? > He didn't die until the 1880's. > > Did he ever have to register to vote? > Did he ever have to get a "drivers license"? > How would I find out who his parents were? > How else could I find out this information? > > Thank you for any help at all in this matter. > Beth > > > ==== PABUTLER Mailing List ==== > You can unsubscribe by clicking below for the regular list: > mailto:PABUTLER-L-request@rootsweb.com > Click below for the digest list: > mailto:PABUTLER-D-request@rootsweb.com > In the BODY include only one word: unsubscribe > (Please turn OFF your signature file when sending the message) > > > > > > > > > > >
