    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: referener Surnames: LARDIN Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.pennsylvania.counties.butler/340.387.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I believe Ina Belle LARDIN was the daughter of John Wesley LARDIN, who was born 6 Dec 1833 in Lardintown, Butler Co, PA, and died 7 Mar 1883 in LaSalle Co, IL. John Wesley LARDIN's parents were William LARDIN (b. 1808, d. 1896) and Elizabeth MILLER (b. abt 1805, d. 1859). William LARDIN was the son of Thomas LARDIN (b. 1765, d. 1833), an immigrant from northern Ireland, and Christiana HARSH (b. 1774, Philadelphia, PA). Thomas Lardin appears in Butler County history books as an early settler of southern Butler County (Buffalo Township). There's still a Lardintown Road which runs through the area he settled. One of Thomas's sons (Daniel) built a mill at Lardintown, which was the first mill in the area. William LARDIN's wife Elizabeth MILLER was first married to a man named BARR and had a daughter Irene BARR, who married Miller McCALL. William and Elizabeth's children were: Christiana (1833-1880), married Philip Sheridan EKAS (1830-1864); John Wesley (1833-1883), m. Elizabeth (b. 1839); Margaret J. (1836-1925), m. William MITCHELL (1836-1901)-my ancestors-; William Miller (1840-after 1889), m. Martha Ann MILLER (b.1843); Thomas P. (1842-after 1910), m. Sarah E. (b. 1843, Ohio); Mary E. (1846-1916), m. Harry A. MOORHEAD (1850-1912); and Daniel (1849-1933) m. Agnes H. PETERS (1860-1948). The LARDINS were early Methodists and were active in the establishment of Methodism in southern Butler County. A lot of the LARDINS were involved in the earlly oil industry in western Pennsylvania as oil drillers, etc. I hope that helps you.
