According to the Butler Co. book, John Ray son of Wm. had 400 acres two miles W of Fairview. He was one of the first settlers. John C. Ray (b 1/30/1836) married Tirza McConnell 11/21/1861, they had 145 acres of Ray land. I checked the 1858 Land Owner Map and found Wm Ray #140 & John at #260? Wm. was grandfather to my great grandfather John C. Ray. What does that mean???? John C.
