    3. Listers, I've written privately to the Hepworth researcher, but thought I'd share what I found today: In the Freeport Cemetery: Amelia Hepworth, no death date, no place of birth, place of residence = Freeport, was 18 years old at death, buried in Sect E-29. Mary Hepworth, 11 years old, all else ditto above. Mina E. Hepworth, 21 years old, ditto above. Thomas B. Hepworth, 9 years old, d.o.d.Sept 2, 1870, all else ditto above. Samuel Hepworth, death date Aug 18, 1889, born England, died in Buffalo Township, 74 years old age at death, cancer of stomach, buried in Section E-28. Sarah Hepworth, d.o.d. Mar 16, 1884, Born England, died in Buffalo Township, 62 years old at death, apoplexy, buried in Sect E-28. In the Armstrong County Will Book Index: Samuel Hepworth, residence Buffalo Township, Butler County, 1900, Volume 6, p.146, estate #6186-B. >From the Freeport Journal. Nov 20, 1877: William Ritchie and Emily Hepworth married. Mar 16, 1884 Mrs. Sarah Hepworth died. May 3, 1887: Samuel Hepworth and Mrs. Margaret Barnett married. Aug 18, 1889: Samuel Hepworth died, age 74y. Nov 30, 1892: George W. Wold and Mrs. Margaret Hepworth married. Nov 26, 1904: Mrs. Emma Hepworth Ritchie died in Florence, PA, age 54y. Feb 27, 1905: H. Brenneman & Son bought the Hepworth farm in Buffalo Township for $3000. >From "History of Armstrong County Pennsylvania" by Robert Walter Smith, Esq, published 1883 by Waterman, Watkins & C0, Chicago. Pages 415 and 432 have to do with the Hepworth farm land purchases. The one I find significant is p.432 where it describes the "Mount Joy" property formerly owned by the John and Massa Harbison family. Samuel Hepworth and L. Johnston purchased 52 and 50 acres respectively on the west side of the eastern bend in the Buffalo Creek, and James Patterson bought 18 acres on the east of the Buffalo Creek. Happy Hunting. ----- Original Message ----- From: "James Hindman" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, September 24, 2007 3:29 PM Subject: Re: [PABUTLER] Fw: HEPWORTH > It would not be unusual for someone living in Freeport to be buried in > Buffalo Twp, Butler County, as Freeport is only a mile or so from Buffalo > Twp.
