Judy, There are Graham's everywhere in Butler County. It's a pretty common name. Do you have a specific area you are interested in? Or certain names? Anything to narrow it down? I'll be glad to look for you if you can give me something more specific. Diana
Does anyone have any Graham's in their cemetery records? Judy

In fact, those you named were found in the Tarentum Census. Perhaps if you posted on the Allegheny site, you might have more pertinent responses. They were painted Pullman Red which was the color that the Standard Steel Car Co./Pullman Standard painted the pullman railroad cars. The people that lived in those row houses worked at the plant and living conditions were very poor. I think the Historical Society may have a photo of these housing units and it seems to me that there are 6 units per building, not 3. He said they were small triplexes one red, one white, one blue then a space then repeated again for blocks. He also told me that they lived there until they could work and afford to buy a house. Is this in the Saxonburg area does someone know ? Where can I locate information on this "Red Row Housing/Shanties"? Also what was the main work industry that they would have been coming to America for ? I was told the Mills ? What kind of Mills then and what were the names/locations ? Where can I find this information ? Thanks, Maggie Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. At one time I believe there was a company/persons who had lists of church books for sale. I can't think of the name to contact. Can anyone help me? I think it was books from other Pa. counties. Elsie C. Segura

I live in Washington state and regret that I cannot take part in the cemetery tour. I think I have relatives buried at the Wolf Creek Cemetery..Wimers and Coopers. Is there a list of those buried there? If so, would be glad to send a donation in order to receive it. I grew up in Brady township not far from the Snyder cemetery. Included in this tour will be the Snyder Family Cemetery, located in Moraine State Park, Wolf Creek Cemetery, located at Moore's Corners, and the Slippery Rock Cemetery. Dr. Hannon will be discussing the gravestones and history of these cemeteries. Today, death and the handling of human remains mean something entirely different than it did in the 19th century. Today, you may be buried in your favorite sport team's coffin or have your ashes spread over your favorite mountain top; but in the 19th century to meet the Creator, the preferred method was to be interred in a church or family cemetery - facing in an easterly direction. One wouldn't want to face the wrong direction and possibly languish in the netherworlds! Cost is $20.00 per person and includes travel between the cemetery locations via school bus. The tour should conclude by 4:30 p.m. For more information, please call the Society Office at 724-283-8116, Tuesday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. Deadline for reservations is Friday, October 2, 2009.
