It is on the top of my to-do list to make the trek to Pennsylvania... but it may be a while before I can make it since I'm in SE North Carolina. According to my information, George Emil Neubert is son of Oliver G Neubert. Oliver G is brother of Richard Emil Neubert (son of Carl Neubert). Richard Emil is father to Howard Henry Neubert - my husband's grandfather. So, yes, several generations back there is a link. Agreed? Thanks again. I look forward to a visit to the library someday. I just checked on-line--and there are plenty of Graff and Neubert obits. They are a great source of family.... Be sure to ask Lu if there happens to be a family folder in the vertical files. As for burials, many, many of the Neuberts are buried in the St. Paul's Lutheran, Hannahstown. I don't know about the Graffs, though. "My" Neuberts are George Emil, married to Della Lefever. I don't know if our lines crosss..... Good luck. Elaine Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 2. Jack McNees
    3. Diana, Oops, was looking at the wrong line of information. It was my grandfather who was Zephaniah Snyder McNees, born 08 Oct 1872. I think I am pretty complete on his information except now I have two locations for his birth. My old notes listed him born in Brady Township, Butler County, but I recently found my sister's baby book that listed him born in Isle, PA. I was hoping Isle was in Brady Township rather than in Franklin Township. Now I'll have to see if the township lines have changed over the years. 3. Hi Jack, I have photos of the town of Isle before Lake Arthur came into existence. If no one else has contacted you on this please let me know and I can give you copies of what I have. Who was your great grandfather as the Prospect Area Preservation Society has been collecting information of the area and we could have information available to you or perhaps you could add to our collection. Most of what I have learned about the Graff family came from a "booklet" compiled by Henry Lensner in about 1939, I think. I'd love to learn more. Anything will be most appreciated. 2. Since the original poster was on the message boards, will this answer go back to them or just be here on the mailing list? Regardless of that.... I am wondering if Stouffer is an Irish surname. More like German to me. Was she married previously? Was it spelled Stouffer but really was Stover or some variation? But even that, it still doesn't seem to be an Irish surname. And as for being born in PA...Chautauqua County NY is just over the PA border, Isn't that the Jamestown area? but the possiblities are endless on where born in PA. Someone has a long way to go with this inquiry. Author: ElaineOswald75 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.pennsylvania.counties.butler/9391/mb.ashx Message Board Post: BUTLER CENTINEL--28 MARCH 1829 DIED On Friday the 6th inst. at the house of Adam Goehring, in Cranberry township, his consort, Rachel aged 26 years and her infant 11 days old. As it had pleased Almighty God, in his wise providence, to take from the afficted husband the third wife within the space of three years, this was a case of uncommon mournfulness and called forth the general sympathy of the vicinity. Several days before her departure, the deceased had given up all hopes of recovery, but was perfectly resigned to the will of her heavenly Father, rejoicing in her Saviour, who had died for the sins of the whole world, and dwelling apparently with particular delight and gratitude, on his having inclined her heart to offer herself lately as a candidate for cnfirmation to eat the body and drink the blood of her crucified Lord. On the Lord's day following, the remains of the mother and the child, enclosed in one coffin, were committed to the ground--earth to earth, ashes to ashes, dust to dust, according to! the usages of the Lutheran church. After the burial, the funeral sermon was preached by the Rev. C. G. SchweizerBarth, from Isaiah 55:8 "Seek ye the Lord while he may be found; call ye upon him while he is near."
