This is from compilings by Toots Hoffman and Audrey Austel. They show Mrs. John (Mary Borland) Glenn as the mother-in-law of Martha Borland. [Rachel Borland married William C. Glenn. Is there another Mary Borland?] John Glenn, native of Ireland, came to America at age 18, and according to Toots Hoffman, was previously married and and purchased property for the children of his first wife in Kentucky. He married second, Mary Borland and had at least six children: Ann, Mary, Robert married to Martha Borland, John married to Mary ___, James married to Janet Stirling, and Joseph married to Mary Thompson. Robert and Martha (Borland) Glenn's children are: John (married first Eleanor Newell and second, Elizabeth H. ___); Mrs. John (Mary Glenn) Gilfillan; Andrew (married first, Ann Aikin and second, Mary Maxwell); Mrs. James (Catherine Glenn) Humphrey; Robert; Mrs. John (Margaret Glenn) Christie; William Glenn married to Eleanor Christy; and Archibald married to Susan Christie John and Mary (?) Glenn had the following children: Mrs Thomas (Jane Glenn) McClemmons; Mrs. James (Elizabeth Glenn) Glenn [same surname marriage]; Mrs. Mary A. Montgomery; Robert Glenn; James Glenn; and Joseph Glenn. James and Janet (Stirling) Glenn had the following children: Joseph married Annis McElvaine; Capt. John married Dorcus McElvaine; James married Ann Campbell; William married Rebecca Porter; Samuel married Jane Conway; Mrs. David (Margaret Glenn) Findley; Mrs. Mary Cowden; and Mrs. A. M. Porter Joseph and Mary (Thompson) Glenn had the following children: Archy married Susannah B. Coursin; William Turner Glenn married a cousin, Mary Jane Thompson; Mrs. Issac (Mary Ann Glenn) Hopkins

Allie and Dora Campbell had a son, Harold. Clyde V. B., born 1885, and wife, Carrie had a son Harold George Campbell. Edgar, born 1864, and wife, Hattie had a son, Harold Campbell. James P. and Blanche E. had a son, Harold Reed Campbell, born in 1919. I have another Harold, but he didn't marry a Dambaugh.
In regard to the Robert Glenn son of John Glenn from Centre Co., PA - Granny Glee mentioned that Mary Borland was Robert's second wife. Who was his first wife? Christi, Some of my families have lived in Butler County for nearly 200 years. I have gathered some information on my extended families. It is also my understanding there is a booklet, (about 10 pages), or part of a book, called the "ANNALS of the ROBERT AIKEN FAMILY". I think it was done about 1904, at the 100th anniversary of the arrival of Robert Aiken to the Portersville, Area. The Butler Library may know more about it. I don't have time right now, but I will search my notes for the additional GLENN/CAMPBELL/MAGEE information you kindly provided, and get back to you. Glee, Supposedly, my Robert Glenn was the grandson of Robert and Martha Borland Glenn, but I haven't come across any concrete connection. According to the information I have on them, Archibald "Archy" was their youngest son (1805-1888/9) and his son was my Robert Glenn (1828-1922). And that Robert Glenn the elder was the son of John Glenn and Mary Diven. I would very much like to clear up the misinformation here....was their anything written about this family? How could I get a copy of Toots' story? Paula, That's fantastic! That's exactly the family I've been looking for! Where did you find all that? I'm descended through Mary's son James and his wife Martha "Byrd" Glenn. Gosh, anything else you can send to me on this line would be great. Robert Glenn (James' father-in-law) was born 7 Sep 1828 and died 7 Dec 1922. Margaret Campbell was born on 6 Apr 1831 and died 2 Sep 1921. They lived in Muddycreek twp. Margaret's mother was Mary Magee, who was the granddaughter of the famed Patrick and Jane Hall Magee. You may have heard of them; there were a few books written about that family. Margaret's father was William John Campbell (10 Feb 1801-1865, Plainsfield, PA). I don't know anything else about him. Robert Glenn's parents were allegedly Archibald Glenn (1805-1888/9) and Susan Christy (1807-1890). That's a speculative match, though. Christi, This information is to the 'best of my knowledge': ROBERT AIKEN and his wife JANE McMEANS AIKEN gave the ground for the Mountville (Mt. Ville) Church for the price of Twenty dollars for three and a half acres. Robert and Jane Aiken's second child was JAMES AIKEN born abt 1800 in PA, died April 19, 1881. JAMES AIKEN married 3 times: 1. SUSAN ADAMS died June 22, 1833; 2. MARGARET CARROLL died August 17, 1860; and 3. ISABELLE CHESNEY died May 30, 1872. All the above are buried at Mountville Cemetery, Perry Township, Lawrence County, PA (Just across the Butler County Line) The third child of JAMES AIKEN and MARGARET CARROLL, was MARY AIKEN b. abt 1836, died Sept 1, 1885, who married ABIJAH SMITH. MARY AIKEN and ABIJAH SMITH had the following children: 1. SUSAN SMITH married A. F. HEBBERLING, their children: MABEL HEBBERLING EDWARD HEBBERLING WALTER HEBBERLING 2. MARGARET SMITH married L. K. JOHN WRIGHT's first wife was MARY ANN SCOTT b. Oct 28, 1818 in PA (I don't have her parents) d. Jan 27, 1872, They had 7 children: 1. Margaret Jane 2. Elizabeth 3. Francis 4. Rachel 5. William 6. Mary 7. Rosanna MARY AIKEN SMITH married August 1877 to the above JOHN WRIGHT, and they had a daughter, TERZAH ELDORA "DORA" WRIGHT b. May 22, 1878 who married ED BRIMNER On the 1870 Census you mentioned: MARY AIKEN SMITH WRIGHT was living with her father JAMES AIKEN and step-mother, ISABELL CHESNEY AIKEN. Sorry, I don't have your Robert Glenn/Margaret Campbell Line. Can you tell any more about them?
