    1. [PABUTLER-L] the Hockenberry conspiracy
    2. Jackie
    3. Hello, I've been reading all the talk about the Hockenberrys and have another puzzle for you. I do have some info on the line but I only have it because my great-great grandmother Mary Jane Lepley married a Joseph Hockenberry after her first husband Henry Lepley died in the Civil War. Here's the rundown of my Joseph and his line going back to Peter Hockenberry, I hope this helps but you can e-mail me off list for the full boat. Peter Hockenberry married Anna Catherina and they had 8 children, one of those being John Hockenberry. John married Hannah Kelley and they had 8 children one of those being Casper Hockenberry and another being Jane. Casper married Margaret Shaffer and they had 8 children one of those being Joseph Hockenberry. Joseph married FIRST Elizabeth Kennedy and they had 6 children. He married SECOND Mary Jane Lepley and they had no children BUT in the 1880 census I found him with Mary Jane and her daughter from her first marriage Lydia A. as well as a niece Anna E. Shields. Any of this making sense to anyone out there. Anyone? Okay, now for another stab at sorting out those Hockenberrys (or Hockenbury). My great grandfather Joseph C. Cowden born 11 Aug 1867 in Portersville, Butler, PA. died 3 Nov 1930 in Minerva, Stark, Ohio. According to his death certificate his mother's maiden name was HOCKENBERRY. His father's name is unknown but I can assume it was Cowden. I would love to find out who HIS parents are. Thanks in advance, Jackie Fry --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! 2. Pat
    3. For the die-hard genealogists out there who have put Christmas on hold in order to spend more time searching for their lost ancestors... I have recently come into posession of a ledger of Parker Township affairs. Begins in 1882 and ends about 1915. This ledger lists accounts of the township and names people like the road workers, the Overseer of the Poor, and the people that received money in any way from the township. I also have the list of voters for 1923, 1924, 1925, and 1926. Lists names and political persuasion. If anyone has a name they would like me to search for, please email me at: sweeze@zoominternet.net Will do these lookups as I have time this next week. Pat www.rootsweb.com/~pabutle2

    1. [PABUTLER-L] Website update!
    2. Pat
    3. We have two new additions to www.rootsweb.com/~pabutle2. The first of the new Township pages has gone online, thanks to the Overseer of Middlesex Township, Lynn Beatty. Lynn's been busy getting things together and has started with an 1838 membership list of the Middlesex Presbyterian Church as well as some baptisms, marriages, and deaths. There'll be more to come over the next couple of weeks. We've also added a link on the main page to a great site that shows the formation of the states and the counties within the states. (Down towards the bottom of the page.) Enjoy!

    3. Iris and Paula, I have a William H. Martin in my line and have been trying to connect him with another Martin line in Butler County, but I am having no luck. He was born in the early 1830s (May 1832?) in Pennsylvania. His parents were born in Ireland, but I have no names. In the mid-1850s he married Eliza Schlagel and lived in Meridian.
