Today the following items were added to our website: www.rootsweb.com/~pabutle2 1893-1905 Births for Surnames beginning with the letter C. We have also put up the Township Page for Franklin, with the first item there being the 1850 census transcription of Franklin Township. This census transcription was done in the 1960's from the original census taker's pages! Also, through the years several people have added notes to the entries, including the names of spouses and other pertinent family information. Enjoy! Pat

Just wanted to fill everyone in on the first meeting. Even though it was very cold and snowing off and on, we had a turnout of 32 from around the county for the meeting on January 7. Some folks didn't get out due to the weather. We went over our tentative Bylaws and have noted some changes which will be made. We will go over these again at the next meeting in February. Lots of folks there with some great ideas and lots of energy to get going on things. Membership fees of $15.00 for singles and $25.00 for a family membership were agreed upon. There will be some discussion at the next meeting on adding a Lifetime Membership fee. We will keep you updated as we go.

Could anyone tell me: ....How I could find the birthdate of someone who came to US in 1826 from Germany and was born in Germany in 1806? He didn't die until the 1880's. Did he ever have to register to vote? Did he ever have to get a "drivers license"? How would I find out who his parents were? How else could I find out this information? Thank you for any help at all in this matter. Beth
Can you find a death or marriage records? How about his naturalization papers? Or the census records? All of these could provide the clues you are looking for. Jan

Yes, YOCKEY is the anglicized version of JACKE--actually they are both pronounced the same. Let me know to my email address how you would like the info sent, snail, gedcom or .rtf file--and are you interested in the WOLFORD data starting in Berks Co PA with Johannes & Maria Agatha WOLFHARDT/WOLFORD in the 1700's--or only the family beginning in Westmoreland Co. beginning in the late 1700s. Any of the above-mentioned forms are fine with me both sending and receiving. Sharon Huffman sharhuff@aol.com
