    2. To Pat (Sweeze): Last Sunday you responded to Bonnie's message as quoted below. I also am researching Wolpert/Dittmer. I am familiar with Collins Family History, and also the many entries in Geibel's Archives of Butler County. Are you saying that there is ANOTHER family history book in the Butler Library which includes Wohlpert'Wilbert? Many, many thanks for all you do for this list. Your efforts are appreciated. 1. Re: [PABUTLER-L] PA Census Lookups offer ...
    2. I would also like a census lookup for an ALBERT B. HILLIARD (nephew 24 years old). He was listed as living with his uncle WILLIAM J. HILLIARD in 1900 Census. I do not have the complete census listing and do not know what township. I found a gravestone at White Oak Springs church marked ALBERT B. HILLIARD 1875-1957. I found him again in the 1930 Census, in Butler County, Connoquenessing Township, at age 54 living with his family. I have been trying to determine who his parents might be. Thanks for your efforts. Kathie

    3. Ed, I am looking for Alberts! I hope we're related. All in Butler County PA. George Albert from 1850 through 1890. Born 1811; died 1890. Emma Evaline Albert, his daughter b. 1854 d. 1940. She married Jacob Heck in 1875 so ought to show up as Emma Evaline Albert in 1860 and 1870 then again as Emma Heck in 1880 to 1940 censuses. Also their daughter Clara Ada Heck born 1877 and married 1901 so she ought to be in the census of 1880, 1890, 1900 in her father's household. The other family is that of Jacob Henshaw who was born 1780 (Germany) and died 1869 in Butler County. He married Barbara Shelby b. 1785 d. 1858. Though I have no documentation on her, I believe she was born in Zelienople. Their daughter, Sarah Henshaw b. 1811 d. 1869 married George Albert. Any census showing any of these three would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much! 1. [PABUTLER-L] Schmoker Families of Butler
    2. I researching the Schmoker families of Butler in a round about hope of finding information on my great great grandfather. Jacob Schmoker was born November 1833 in Germany. In 1853 he married Magdalene Schmidt born November 11, 1833 in Butler County PA. She was the daughter of Johann (John) Schmidt and Maria Eva Ritzert Schmidt - the only one of her family born in the United States. According to the 1900 census record, Jacob and Magdalene had 10 children, of which only 7 survived to that year. I only have the names of seven children - though not necessarily the 7 that survived. - William Schmoker born about 1854 in Pennsylvania - was an apprentice shoemaker under his father's direction in 1870. - Mary Schmoker born about 1857 in Iowa - Annie Schmoker born about 1858 in Iowa - Johny Schmoker born about 1862 in Pennsylvania (Presume this should be John Schmoker but the 1870 census says "Johny" so.... who knows!) - Joseph John Schmoker born about 1865 in Pennsylvania - Amelia Schmoker born January 1870 in Pennsylvania - Paul G. Schmoker born September 1875 in Pennsylvania Paul Schmoker married a Mary Anna Unknown in 1902. They had at least 4 children that I am aware of: Pauline born August 12, 1902, Leo Clair born about 1905, Julia M born about 1907 and Jane M born about 1916. Pauline was an artist and very active with the Butler County Historical Society (so I'm told) but they don't have records for/on her. She passed away on Sept 19, 1995. If anyone has a connection to this family I'd appreciate it! I'm hoping that someone has the family bible from Jacob and Magdalene Schmidt Schmoker that I might gain some info from. Thanks! Joyce

    1. [PABUTLER-L] Re: CENSUS Lookup: John Snyder or Snider
    2. Ed Albert
    3. Found five John Snyder entries in Butler County on the 1860 census in Brady, Butler, Cranberry, Jackson and Mercer townships. Of the five, the one in Butler Township is a possibility, as his age is either 32 or 52, depending on how you read the writing. The spouse, Mary, is 38 and there is a son, Sylvester (? spelling), age 12. The other Butler County possibility is 25 years old, and is in Cranberry Township, with a spouse named Sevila age 22. The other three are all in their 50s. In Armstrong County, there are three John Snyders in 1860 in Brady's Bend, Apollo Borough, and Kittanning townships. In Brady's Bend, the John Snyder there is 30, with a spouse named Mary, age 34 and three children: Andrew, Louis (spelling??), and Emeline. The one in Apollo Borough is 20 years old and the other in Kittannning Township is 45. So .... if any of these look familiar to you, let me know and I will send you the census page image.
